AIMS – ACTIVITIES (Article 3 excerpt)
The aim of the Academy is :
- 1. To safeguard freedom of expression and pluralism in accordance with constitutional principles, and to promote the quality of cinema as an expression of contemporary culture.
- 2. To promote, develop, and advance the art of cinema and Greece’s filmmaking potential, both in Greece and internationally.
- 3. To assume responsibility, initiative, and oversight for the organisation and granting of film awards, in accordance with the attached Regulation on the selection procedure for the annual IRIS Film Awards, which forms an integral part of the present Articles of Association.
- 4. To intervene with public authorities and institutional bodies in order to promote Greek cinema in Greece and abroad.
- 5. To promote education and training for professionals in the field of cinema.
