Around the world in 30 short films.
Each year, more than 30 Film Academies from around the globe select the best short film from their country. The result is a rare collection of award-winning film gems that travels to major cities and is screened free of charge.
From the Césars to the Oscars and from the IRIS to the Goyas, the Nuits en Or (Golden Nights) is an international initiative that brings to the big screen the most powerful short stories - films that stand out for their vision, boldness, and cinematic language.
The Hellenic Film Academy hosts the Golden Nights in Athens, connecting Greek short films with the international community and opening a window to the world, an initiative for everyone who cherishes the few minutes that stay with us forever.

For the 10th year, the Hellenic Film Academy hosted Les Nuits en Or (Golden Nights) in Athens, an initiative of the Académie des César that showcases the best short films of the year from around the world, as selected by film academies worldwide. The audinece had the opportunity to take a cinematic trip around the world. Films from the United States to Taiwan and from South Africa to Sweden were screened at the Astor Cinema during a festive two-day event with free admission. DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM

The audience, which filled the Astor Cinema on 7 and 8 June 2018, had the opportunity to watch 34 international short films awarded by the film academies of their countries of origin. A wonderful interplay of images, sounds, and stories from five continents brought viewers into contact with familiar or distant cultures and diverse cinematic styles, in an immediate, immersive way that only cinema can offer. A unique international cinematic journey took place on 6 and 7 June 2017, featuring 33 short films awarded by film academies around the world (Oscar, César, Goya, BAFTA, etc.). The César Academy and the Hellenic Film Academy presented to Greek audiences the Best International Short Films of the Year as part of the event Panorama – Les Nuits en Or (Golden Nights). The annual Panorama program includes the selection of some of the best international short films, awarded by the national film academies of their countries of origin, and their screening in cities across France, Canada, and European capitals.
